Meet the Team of Managers at Bambara Salt Lake City
Led by a trio of seasoned managers, the staff at Bambara Restaurant & Lounge has established itself as one of Salt Lake City's finest. "From the beginning, we have put our collective knowledge and experience into assuring that Bambara represents the best Salt Lake City has to offer," says General Manager Guy Wheelwright. "The food, the wines, the level of service, the attention to every detail-it all comes down to a collaborative effort to create a consistently pleasurable experience."
The driving force behind the team's endless learning and ongoing professional and personal development is two-fold: to keep both guests and employees happy and to do it every single shift of every day, year after year. Many of Bambara's service and management team have been working here since the restaurant's opening in 1999 or shortly thereafter. It's a lifestyle and a profession for the dedicated, knowledgeable staff.
Working and Playing Hard
Bambara's location in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City puts outdoor-oriented employees just minutes from pristine wilderness, world-class skiing and bike trails. "Our staff embraces a lifestyle of working and playing hard in one of the country's most enviable locations. It's part of who we are," says Assistant General Manager Steve Quesenberry, who has been with Bambara over eleven years. Co-manager Lou Karagas agrees. "We're a tight team and proud to say that nationwide, our staff scores consistently at the top or among the top three restaurants in various hospitality indexes used by our parent company to track service and excellence.
Bambara has been awarded the company's Gold Service Award twice; a national distinction bestowed upon one restaurant out of 40 San Francisco-based Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group. Bambara has also been two-time runner up for this award and consistently receives rave reviews from local and national media.
